These are Mexican recipes made north of the border. Not exactly true, authentic recipes thatā€™s justified to be called Mexican, but good enough for our Southern ways. Tex-Mex, Southwestern, Cajun-Mex, Mississippi Delta, Dixie-Mex ā€“ these are all foods that I prefer to call 'Mexican-American' as the recipes are a little us, a whole lot of Mexican.

Almost every week, Mexican-American recipes are served in our house, mainly on Saturdays. It has become known as Mexican Saturday or Sabado Mexicano and you will find many recipes with this colorful tag:
