California Style Pizza
Typically, California Style pizza means a smaller, individual serving. Each pie is made for one person. It can also mean a little healthier eating, as in this recipe.
California Style Pizza
Dough for 1 -12 inch pizza
1/2 cup Basil Pasta sauce
1/2 cup lightly steamed broccoli
1/2 cup artichoke hearts, chopped
1/3 cup black olives sliced
1 sliced tomato sliced thin
6 white onion rings
6 yellow or red pepper rings
Preheat oven to 425°F Rub a 12" pizza pan with olive or cooking oil. Roll out the dough into a 12" circle and place in the pizza pan. Push the edges up a little to form a rim. Brush one inch of edge with oil and spread the sauce on the dough to within the rim. Arrange the vegetables on the sauce topping with the onions & peppers. Bake until the crust is brown & crisp, approximately 15 minutes.
Note: In true Californian style, use a whole wheat dough.
