Our Favorite Banana Pudding

This recipe is from Mary Johnson of Semmes AL. Whenever we have a family get-together, this pudding is always a featured dessert. It's a cool, creamy dessert full of vanilla richness with just the right amount of bananas. Try it ~ it will become one of your family favorites as well.

Mary's Blue Ribbon Banana Pudding
1 large Jell-O Vanilla instant pudding
    3 cups milk
    1 -8 oz sour cream
    1/2 carton Cool Whip
    Vanilla Wafers
    Sliced bananas
Beat pudding mix with milk and sour cream. Fold in the cool whip. In a large bowl, arrange a layer of wafers on bottom and sides. Spread a layer of pudding mix followed with a layer of banana slices, another layer of wafers and so on ending with wafers. Cover and refrigerate until cold.

This is just one of our family favorites in my Grits to Guacamole cookbook.

      8. This is exactly the banana pudding recipe I grew up with and adore...it's truely an all-American desert. I like it best the next day when the vanilla wafers soften up. How nice to see this.
